Community Garden Sessions
We run weekly Community Garden Sessions, using nature-based activities to improve people’s wellbeing.
We deliver a number of weekly, group garden-based sessions across three sites in Newcastle and in Gateshead.
During these sessions participants volunteer in diverse activities including gardening, bee-keeping, landscaping and maintenance, cooking, crafts and more. We also organise fun and educational trips and courses, community events and projects, and family activities.
People are supported to set and reach personal goals and to address their wider needs with the help of our staff, peer mentors and partners, and through extensive signposting.
As well as helping people to improve their mental and physical wellbeing, develop confidence and learn new skills, the Community Garden Sessions also provide an opportunity to meet others in a safe, welcoming environment and to integrate with the wider community.
