Success at the Newcastle Allotment Show

Sad news

There was lots to see at the allotment show on Sunday 14th September.

There were huge onions and leeks and very long carrots, enormous cabbages and perfect flowers.

How do they do it? Lots of time and dedication I think. We had a stand there to let everyone know about the wonderful things we do.

We had entered lots of different classes in the show and Shuhana and her family did VERY well. They are obviously a talented bunch.

Shuhana won prizes for her flower arrangement and planted pot and Shalik, Fathima and Zaid won many of the childrens’ art classes for drawing, decorated plant pot and the best decorated egg.

Shalik (pictured right) won best childrens’ exhibit for a beautiful decorated plant pot and was awarded a certificate and a shield.

Fathima won first prize for a wonderful drawing of the allotment show and Zaid also won a prize for his drawing.

Belmira entered the sugar cane from Walkergate allotment and won third prize.

The Moorside allotment collected second prize for the best group project and were awarded a certificate.

An excellent all-round performance from everyone at the Comfrey Project. Well done everyone.
