Job Opportunity: Volunteer Coordinator!

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and conscientious individual to join our small, highly motivated team as Volunteer Coordinator to oversee the recruitment, induction, training and support of volunteers at The Comfrey Project.

The salary will be £24,858 Pro Rata for 22.5 hours/3 days per week and is currently advertised as a fixed one-year post, with the potential of extending that pending funding and the right candidate.

Volunteering is at the heart of our work; registered participants are supported to get involved and take ownership of various aspects in daily operations whether through the upkeep and development of our green spaces and centre, supporting the development and delivery of activities, providing hospitality, and helping to make our spaces friendly, welcoming and safe.

Understanding the value that volunteering has in enhancing somebody’s overall wellbeing and life chances, as Volunteer Coordinator for The Comfrey Project you will take responsibility for all aspects of the volunteer journey and you will lead the evaluation and improvement of the systems in place to support this, in close consultation with volunteers.

The post holder will be primarily based at the Windmill Hills Centre in Gateshead and at times from our two allotment sites in Newcastle, while some remote work will be considered.

To request an application pack and for any enquiries about this post please email: info@thecomfreyproject.org.uk or call: 0191 44 77 801 (Mon – Fri, 9am to 5pm).

Please note, we can only accept applications made using the application form contained in this pack.

The application deadline is 5pm on Friday 10th of December, with interviews to take place in the week commencing Monday 13th December.
