Community Volunteering Day
To mark Volunteering Week we organised an open day of community gardening in June. We were delighted to have been joined by 35 keen volunteers, including members from the GoodGym, a lovely bunch of Newcastle University medical students, existing Comfrey volunteers and some new faces from the community!
It was a much needed weeding and tidying session mostly, as we have been a little behind this year due to staffing changes. The volunteers were rewarded with delicious Cameroonian food cooked by our volunteer Comfort!
If you are thinking of volunteering in support of refugees and enjoy contact with nature, art or cooking then do not hesitate to get in touch with us!
