There is so much I love about working for the Comfrey Project – each day is different, gardening, learning new things… But most of all it is the optimism, hopefulness and generosity of everyone involved, and their willingness to share that with others. I like that I am a part of the Comfrey Project.

Coming to work is always a pleasure, with new challenges and interesting people to meet. What we do here is about finding ways to work that improve people’s lives, even for the short period that they’re on the allotments. If they can find a peaceful place in their lives, for one or two hours, then we’ve achieved an awful lot.
It’s such a beautiful place and I love to be around people from different parts of the world. Our participants aren’t allowed to have employment in the UK, but they are naturally hard workers so spending time in our garden makes them feel useful and worthwhile. And because this is such a friendly place as well, it means they can forget their worries for a while. It’s like a little oasis.
I like The Comfrey Project because no matter how dull a day spending time on the allotment always brightens your day and puts a smile on your face.
