Comfrey Cafe launches on Monday 24 July

CookingUpdates
Refugees of the North East #5: Nancy

Launching on Monday 24 July, Comfrey Cafe will present an opportunity to eat fantastic home-cooked internationally-themed food cooked by refugees and people seeking asylum.

It will also provide a chance to find out what’s going on at the Project and to give us your ideas about how we can develop our community garden in the future.

What will it look like?
What activities would you like to take part in?
How could you contribute?

  • The event is free and each cafe will have different themes:

Monday 24 July: Family Day with the Creche Bus – ideal for families with young children
Monday 31 July: Comfrey Friends – for anyone who has visited the Comfrey Project as a volunteer
Monday 7 August: Older People
Monday 14 August: Men’s Day
Monday 21 August: Women’s Day
Monday 4 September: Asylum and Refugee Support charities
Monday 11 September: Supporters Day
Monday 18 and Monday 25 September: Come and see the plans in progress

Although the food is free, we are a charity and rely on donations, so please consider showing your appreciation with a small donation if possible.

If you’d like to come along, with or without your family, just visit our Eventbrite page here, and book your place(s).
