Celebrating International Women’s Day

This International Women’s Day, we hosted a special event dedicated to empowering women through health education and support. Held at our centre in partnership with Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust and guests from Citizens Advice, the event was a huge success, drawing in 30 attendees eager to learn more about key aspects of women’s health.
Our session covered vital topics, including Women’s General Health, Cervical Screening, Breast Screening Awareness, and Menopause. These discussions aimed to provide essential knowledge, encourage proactive healthcare, and break down barriers surrounding women’s health issues.
A major highlight of the day was the presence of the Outreach Bus, which offered clinical interventions on-site, making healthcare more accessible to women in our local community. In addition, a variety of informative stalls offered support and guidance on key issues affecting local women, including financial matters, homelessness, and befriending and loneliness services, ensuring that every participant had access to advice and resources.
The engagement and enthusiasm from both attendees and NHS staff was fantastic. The positive response has sparked interest in hosting more sessions in the future, reaffirming the importance of accessible health education for women in our community.
Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making this event such a success!
