Job Opportunity: Volunteer Coordinator!

We are pleased and excited to announce that we are recruiting two new members of staff for The Comfrey Project team – Session Coordinator (Gardening) and Gardening Lead!

Details for each role are as follows:

Session Coordinator (Gardening)

The salary will be £26,101.28 (NJC Scale 5) Pro Rata for 30 hours per week and is currently advertised as a fixed two-year post.

The Session Coordinator will plan, develop and deliver a programme of group sessions which focus on promoting contact with nature through diverse activities, taking place within our community allotments and garden.

We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants who are experienced and confident facilitators with great people skills, passionate about supporting people to take control of their own wellbeing and development.

The successful candidate will need to have a positive, creative and solution-focused approach to challenges. They need to be very organised and work well under pressure. They must be able to work very well under your own initiative, as well as, as part of a small, dynamic team.

Gardening Lead

The Gardening Lead will manage and develop our three community gardens.

The salary will be £23,177.93 Pro Rata (NJC Scale 4) for 30 to 37.5 hours per week and is currently advertised as a fixed two-year post.

With their horticultural expertise, the Gardening Lead will ensure our gardens look pleasant and welcoming, are accessible and safe, and have thriving crops. They will be deeply committed to the ethos and benefits of community gardening. Working in close collaboration with the gardening Session Coordinator, they will ensure that participants are meaningfully involved in all aspects of planning and development of the sites.
