Refugees of the North East #3: Yvette

This  week (19-26 June) is Refugee Week, a celebration of the contribution of refugees and people seeking asylum to life in the UK.

Newcastle is celebrating with a number of events, and we’re heavily involved, with a film screening, community food event at the Discovery Museum and a family picnic.

Here’s a run down of what’s happening next week, and here’s a link to a more detailed programme of Refugee Week events.

Wed 21: Refugee Week stall at Grainger Market
Thu 22: Grow Your Own film screening with Action Foundation
Fri 23 – Sun 25: If You Lived Here at Discovery Museum
Fri 23: World Music Night at Kommunity
Sat 24: A Taste of the Wild at Discovery Museum
Thurs 29: Family picnic with the Red Cross at Windmill Hills Centre. If you’d like to celebrate Refugee Week and the contribution made by both the Red Cross and Comfrey Project participants, send your RSVP to Craig (so we know how many to cook for).

Come and enjoy our amazing garden.
