Ladybird books still thrilling older readers

A wonderful donation of Ladybird books from supporter Helen Day has gone down a storm at our Walkergate allotment.

After an appeal for reading material, Helen sent us a box packed with such delights as Life of the Honey Bee, Wild Life in Britain, Birds and how they live and British Wild Flowers.

Although some of these books are nearly sixty years old, they were snapped up by readers eager to improve both their language skills and their natural history knowledge.
